“There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.”
WHO I AM
My name is Julia and I am a semi professional photographer, I say that due to the many photographs I take for friends and family and the fact I don't charge them, this to me is not something I went into to pay my wage, it's a passion, hobby a pleasure.
As I said it began as a hobby along with my horse riding, I loved taking photographs of my horses and other pets, that in turn developed into taking photographs of friends pets and their children. Having a passion and drive to learn more about photography I decided to get my deploma in photography and passed with a Merit, I learned from how to develop a film to the enlargement process within a photo lab, to present day working with photoshop, which I love.
After my exam pass a friend contacted me and asked if I would do his daughters wedding, at first I wanted to decline as I was sure this was out of my depth, but I graciously accepted, even though I was extremely nervous, the day came and I spent all day with my client and took photographs from start of the day as the Bride was getting ready to the last dance, I was exhausted but humbled and proud at what I achieved. I gracefully gave all my photographs to my client, they were all so happy I was asked to do her sisters wedding a few years on.
I've done many Weddings since and my clients become friends and I always end up photographing their future children, pets or both.
I've now delved into more be-spoke photography doing pictures through photography, this I find so fun so if you fancy your self wanting a quirky picture for your house, please get in touch, look through my "photography is creativity section".
The final word is Photography for me is not just taking a photo but the photo has to speak to you and tell you something about what's in it and when you see some of my photographs in the "photographs tell a story section", you will understand what I mean? Photography it can also be sad, happiness, creativity, colourful and dull but always honest.
